La Leche League of Wakkanai, Hokkaido (Northern Japan)

La Leche League International is a volunteer, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed. All women interested in breastfeeding are welcome to come to our monthly meetings or call our Leaders for breastfeeding help. LLL Wakkanai offers support and information through:

Mother-to-mother support
Monthly meetings (held in Japanese but an English translation can be made available)
Telephone help from accredited Leaders in both English and Japanese
A lending library with books in English and Japanese on breastfeeding, childbirth, and related subjects
Sales of THE WOMANLY ART OF BREASTFEEDING (in English and in Japanese) and other LLL approved books, as well as LLL pamphlets, Lansinoh, etc.

Meeting Information

LLL Wakkanai holds a regular continuing series of informal discussion meetings once a month, open to all women interested in breastfeeding. Babies and toddlers are always welcome!

Meeting times: the fourth Friday of the month 10:30am - 12pm at the East District Activity Center (3-1-1 Shiomi, Wakkanai)

Membership Information

Membership in LLL Japan is 6200yen, which includes an annual subscription to La Leche League International's bi-monthly publication NEW BEGINNINGS, and Close to the Heart, a publication produced for members of La Leche League in Asia. All members are entitled to a 10% discount on items purchased through our Group, including THE WOMANLY ART OF BREASTFEEDING. The membership fee helps support local Groups, our Area and the international organization.

Leader Information
