The
United Nations Commission on the Status of Women
The Commission
on the Status of Women (CSW) was established as a functional commission
of the Economic and Social Council in 1946 to prepare recommendations
and reports to the Council on promoting women's rights in political,
economic, civil, social and educational fields.
The 46th
Session of the CSW took place on March 4-15, 2002 at the United
Nations Headquarters, New York City, New York, USA. LLLI was represented
by the following LLL Leaders/LLLI Representatives to the UN: Kate
Sharp, Judy LeVan Fram, and Jo Ann Gerling.
At the
46th session the Commission considered the following two thematic
issues:
