The OnLLLine Chronicle is a free monthly e-newsletter from La Leche League International, an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed. 2. LA LECHE LEAGUE GREAT BRITAIN CONFERENCE COMING SOON!
The La Leche League Great Britain Conference 2004 theme is "Breastfeeding: Rediscovering the Art. The Conference will take place at Eastwood, near Nottingham, England on 2 & 3 April, 2004. Amongst the speakers will be Nils Bergman, Senior Medical Superintendent of Mowbray Maternity Hospital, South Africa, speaking about Kangaroo Mothercare "The Original Paradigm", Dr Penny Stanway, a developmental paediatrician before becoming a writer and author of "Breast is Best", and Marian Tompson, one of the Founders of La Leche League International.

3. LLLI SEMINAR FOR PHSYCIANS: Compelling Topics, State-of-the-Art Research, and Distinguished Faculty
Physicians from around the world will gather July 26-28, 2004 at La Leche League International's (LLLI's) 32nd Annual Seminar for Physicians, co-sponsored by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists at the Hyatt Regency Newport, Newport Rhode Island. The American Academy of Family Physicians is participating as a Cooperating Organization.
Regarded by many health care providers as the premiere learning opportunity for breastfeeding information, the seminar provides continuing medical education credits for obstetricians, pediatricians, family physicians, osteopaths and CERPs for lactation consultants. LLLI has fulfilled the accreditation requirements set forth by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education and is accredited as a provider of continuing medical education for physicians.
Among the topics covered will be breastfeeding support in the office, current issues in exposure of the US population to environmental chemicals and their distribution in human milk, and predicting breastmilk intake through visual assessment. Breastfeeding basics, a multidisciplinary panel on breastfeeding ethics, and the latest research on how past abuse can affect breastfeeding and specific strategies to help will also be included in the program.

4. LLLI LACTATION SPECIALIST WORKSHOPS YEAR 2004 -- BREASTFEEDING: EVIDENCE-BASED SUCCESS
The ongoing series of Lactation Specialist Workshops offer continuing education for nurses, lactation consultants and physicians who work in a variety of settings including hospitals, clinics and physician's offices. The workshops provide a post-graduate course for lactation specialists on current breastfeeding information, and the skills and tools needed to assist breastfeeding mothers in prenatal and postnatal situations.

5. THE ALUMNAE TRIP TO SAVANNAH, GEORGIA, USA
From November 11th through November 14th, 2004 the Alumnae Association of La Leche League is sponsoring an excursion to Savannah, Georgia, USA. Strolling through Savannah's squares under the live oak trees, meandering from one end of the Historic District to the other passing historic homes, houses of worship, shops and galleries, visitors to the city get to soak in the history, culture and to sample the low country foods of Georgia's oldest city.
The group will be staying at the Courtyard by Marriott in the heart of the historic district across the street from the Savannah Visitor's Center. The trip will include two dinners, a lunch, a guided tour, as well as admission to several attractions and the theater.

10. ANOTHER FUN WAY TO RAISE FUNDS
Here's a new and easy way to raise money for La Leche League International.
LLLI is now working with i.think inc., an online marketing research firm. You can sign up with ithink.inc as a survey panel member and designate LLLI as the recipient of your fee. It won't cost you anything beyond a few minutes of time and your opinion. You will be contacted only when you meet the criteria for the survey sponsors' target audiences, asking you via email to participate in online research surveys. Every time you complete a survey, La Leche League International will be automatically credited. The amount earned per completed survey ranges from $2-$20 dollars - and there are also regular drawings for large cash prizes.
It's easy to get involved!

2. Fill out the sign-up survey.
3. Under the "Funds for Charity" section, select La Leche League International from the list of names.
