Co-Leader Reunion
Juanita Watt
Los Alamos NM USA
From: LEAVEN, Vol. 40 No. 3, June-July 2004, p. 63.
When I first came to Los
Alamos, New Mexico, USA in 1979, I was welcomed by my two new co-Leaders,
Barb Barnes and Jeanette Meadows, who lived next door to each other.
Soon I moved into a home around the block from them. As friends and
neighbors, we co-led the Los Alamos Group together and we were joined
over the years by Leaders Sue Piltch, Andrea Patterson, Marsha Brown,
Anna Burrows, and Morgan Light. In 1986, Barb moved to Virginia, USA.
Eventually, I also left the Group to start one in a neighboring town,
while Jeanette stayed with the Los Alamos Group (joined by Leaders Kelley
Baer, Ulrike Schreckenbach, Susannah Rousculp, and Gina Peterson). Now,
for the first time since Barb moved away, the three of us got together
again when Barb came to Los Alamos for a visit. Here we are, eighteen
years older, a bit grayer, and with grandchildren (Barb’s and Jeanette’s)
around the ages our children were when we first met. But we’re
still in LLL and still co-Leaders in spirit, if not in geography.
