World Walk Flyer Idea

Our Tampa chapter makes flyers (four fit per page, and we copy them on very brightly colored paper and cut into fourths). We leave piles of them everywhere--pediatricians' offices, WIC, the library, baby stores, you name it. Moms at the meetings can take some. When someone calls us, we send them a walker packet via mail. The flyers have the WWB sticker on the left margin, then the following text: (This is from the 1996 Walk.)

"If you are a nursing mother or a supporter of natural feeding, this may be the event that you have been waiting for. La Leche League of Tampa is sponsoring the fifth annual World Walk for Breastfeeding on Sat. August 3, 1996, 9:00 AM.

The walk will begin at Tampa's Christopher Columbus Statue (at the corner of Platt St. and Bayshore Blvd.) and proceed down Bayshore Blvd. and Davis Islands Bridge. Please park in the TGH auxiliary parking lot at the corner of Verne St. and Bayshore Blvd.

The event will culminate at Tampa General Hospital's Cafeteria, where snacks will be provided and walkers will have an opportunity to win mother/baby door prizes (baby clothes, nursing wear, toys, etc.)
